Anthropic nears second Australian data centre deal at AirTrunk’s planned Newcastle hub.
The AI giant is reportedly set to become the anchor tenant at AirTrunk’s proposed 550MW data centre development at Kurri Kurri in NSW.
The deal would follow Anthropic’s agreement for capacity at Zerra DC’s huge Western Downs development in Queensland.
If completed, Anthropic would have major data centre capacity secured across both Queensland and NSW.
AirTrunk’s Newcastle project is planned on the site of the former Kurri Kurri aluminium smelter.
