Plans filed for Australia’s largest-ever data centre. A huge $31bn, 1.44GW mega-campus.
Zerra DC has proposed the Western Downs Digital Park, approx 250km northwest of Brisbane in Queensland.
The 725.5 hectare site is planned to include four AI ready data centres, with each building providing around 36,000 sqm of data centre floor space.
The campus would sit close to major energy infrastructure, including the Braemar substation and several nearby gas and solar power facilities.
Phase one includes the first data centre, a 540MVA substation and a battery backed power conditioning system.
Zerra says the campus will use 100% air cooled technology, removing the need for water based evaporative cooling.
The proposal has now been lodged with Western Downs Regional Council and is awaiting approval.
