Telstra switches on its LONGEST Aura Network route to connect Perth and Sydney.

The Perth–Sydney route is the latest section of Telstra's Aura Network, strengthening the digital corridor between Australia's east and west coasts.

More than 9,000km of the wider Aura Network has now been built, with around 14,000km planned across Australia.

Telstra says the network is designed to provide up to 35 times more fibre capacity per path than conventional fibre routes.

Microsoft and Google have already secured capacity on the Aura Network as demand grows from cloud, AI and data centre operators.

The route forms part of Telstra's broader $1.8bn investment in Australian digital infrastructure.
