In the spirit of reconciliation, Sydney Tech Expo recognises the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and honours their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to land, waters, and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia today.
1. The $1.4 billion skyscraper under construction next to Central Station will be the HQ of tech giant Atlassian and will anchor the Tech Central precinct.
2. The 39-storey tower has been developed by Dexus has been a key part of Atlassian boss Mike Cannon-Brookes’ vision for a bustling tech precinct in the heart of Sydney.
3. Expected to complete in late-2026 it is the world’s tallest hybrid-timber tower, built from highly sustainable materials and even featuring a solar powered facade.
4. The tower will feature a gardened interior consisting of several three-storey habitats allowing for cohabitation and interaction between the levels and 4,000 Atlassian employees.
5. Approximately a third of the tower is to be sub-leased to other tech companies and innovative businesses.
6. Tech Central is Australia’s leading innovation district, spanning 6 square kilometres across 6 diverse neighbourhoods. The district supports a $42 billion economy and over 100,000 workers, and is home to research institutions, global technology companies and innovation hubs.
